Instructions to Authors
Journal of Oral Health and Research (JOHR) publishes original scientific work in the field of oral and maxillofacial sciences. Manuscripts must be prepared under the “Uniform requirements” of the Archives of Dental Research as per guidelines by the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors (Updated December 2019). Submissions not conforming to these requirements may be returned for revision.

Manuscript Preparation
General Requirements
- Manuscripts should be written in English and submitted in Microsoft Word format .
- Typed in Times New Roman, font size 12.
- Double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Pages should be numbered consecutively.
Title Page
- Title of the manuscript
- Full names of all authors
- Affiliations of authors
- Corresponding author’s address, email, and phone number
Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must be structured under the following headings:
- Aim
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
Provide 3–6 keywords below the abstract, preferably using terms from Index Medicus/MeSH.

References
References should be numbered consecutively in the order of appearance in the text and formatted according to the Vancouver referencing style.

Figures and Tables
- Figures should be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
- Tables should be typed clearly and numbered consecutively and cited in the text.
- Photomicrographs must mention magnification and stain used.
Ethical Considerations

Ethical clearance is mandatory for studies involving human subjects. All papers submitted to the Journal involving humans, animals, organs and/or tissues, must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki. Informed consent must be obtained where applicable and patient identity should not be disclosed.
Plagiarism Policy
JOHR follows a strict plagiarism policy. Manuscripts with similarity index above acceptable limits will be rejected. Authors are responsible for the originality of their work.
Copyright and Open Access
Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration elsewhere. Upon acceptance, authors grant JOHR the right to publish the article. All articles are published under open-access terms. The corresponding author must submit a duly signed consent declaration form on behalf of all co-authors, confirming authorization to publish the submitted work. While the authors retain the copyright of the manuscript, they agree to transfer all publication and licensing rights to the publisher upon acceptance of the article. The publisher is granted the exclusive right to publish, distribute, and commercially exploit the article for the full term of copyright protection. This includes the right to reproduce the work in whole or in part in any form, including print, electronic, online, offline, translations, reprints, photographic reproductions, microform, or any other comparable medium.
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted by email to editorjohr@gmail.com.
All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Upon accepptance, the authors will be required to pay Article Processing Charges (APC). Since JOHR is an independently funded, open-access journal available in both online and print formats, the fund such generated is utilized to meet operational expenses, including website maintenance, printing, pre-press processing, and remuneration of editorial and administrative staff. The APC structure follows a differential pricing model, offering concessional rates for authors from low/middle-income countries.
